Where Your Support Becomes Action

Welcome to Our First Newsletter!
We’re so excited to launch Helping Israel Fund’s (HIF) very first newsletter, a new way to keep you, our incredible supporters, connected to the impact you’re making across Israel.
From Warm Corners for IDF soldiers to emotional support for grieving families, every project we take on is powered by your generosity and care. This newsletter is our way of sharing those stories with you so you can see, feel, and be a part of the mission every step of the way.
We also want this to be a two-way street. If there’s a specific cause that speaks to your heart, if you’d like to sponsor a project, or even roll up your sleeves and get involved- we want to hear from you.
Thank you for standing with Israel’s soldiers, families, and communities.
We’re just getting started.

What is a Warm Corner?
One of the Helping Israel Funds’ proudest and earliest initiatives is the establishment of Warm Corners, or Pinot Chamot. Located throughout Israel, these small but versatile buildings give support and comfort to our soldiers as they perform difficult and stressful service in some of the toughest and most important regions of the country.
The buildings provide shelter and warmth in winter, air conditioning in the Summer. They are stocked with food and drink, have couches and comfortable seating on which to rest and nap off shift, and even have some religious supplies for soldiers serving during the holidays. In addition to functioning as a physical means of support, these mini-sanctuaries are staffed by civilian residents or the local communities, and who bring treats, meals, supplies, and good wishes. Often, they are dedicated in memory or in honor of someone, like Beit Nachman in Emanuel and Beit HaGiborim in Gitit.
These small, humble structures accomplish many meaningful mitzvot:
- Provide physical and emotional comfort to our soldiers
- Give community volunteers a chance to practice Hachnasat Orchim — welcoming and caring for those who serve
- Offer good people like yourself a tangible way to give tzedaka Opportunity for good people such as yourself to give tzedaka in a deeply tangible way

We’ve Dedicated Two New Warm Corners
This month, we proudly dedicated two new Pinot Chamot (Warm Corners) – one in the town of Emanuel and another in Gittit. These centers provide essential support and comfort to IDF soldiers stationed in some of Israel’s most critical and challenging regions. Emanuel is located in Central Samaria, while Gittit lies just a few miles from the Israel Jordan border in the Jordan Valley.
The Pina Chama in Emanuel is called Beit Nachman, dedicated in loving memory of Nachman Dekel z”l. Sgt. Dekel fell in battle on October 7th, 2023 as part of the Nachal Brigade. He was from Emanuel, which makes the Pina Chamah being dedicated there all the more meaningful.
The Warm Corner in Gittit is appropriately called “Beit HaGiborim,” the “Home of the Heroes,” and was dedicated in memory of Cpl. Hezi Reichani z”l, who fell during the Yom Kippur War, and Sgt. Vitaliy Skipakevich z”l, who fell on October 7, 2023. Though they gave their lives 50 years apart, both stood in defense of Israel during its darkest hours, a powerful reminder of our people’s enduring spirit and sacrifice.
May the memories of Nachman, Hezi, and Vitaliy be a blessing and may these buildings dedicated in their memory bring comfort, strength and relief to their brothers and sisters serving in defense of the Jewish people.

Magav Swimming Event:
A Cool Break for Soldiers
In the intense summer heat near Ramallah, where temperatures can easily hit the high 90s, Magav (Israel Border Police) soldiers at the Rama base work tirelessly to protect Israel. These active-duty heroes face tough conditions, making moments of rest and relief critical.
To give these heroes a much-needed break, Helping Israel Fund (HIF) supports a swimming event for Magav soldiers—offering them a chance to swim, relax, and recharge. Thanks to a $1,200 donation, HIF is covering three pool days at the Ma’ale Adumim Country Club for 150 soldiers (in groups of 45–50). “It’s a quick, easy way to make a lot of soldiers really happy,” shared an HIF organizer.
The Rama base, just outside Ramallah, contacted HIF to arrange these pool days to combat the summer heat and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. “The soldiers really appreciate the break,” the organizer noted. With one more day still planned, the Ma’ale Adumim Country Club continues to provide the perfect setting for relief and camaraderie as soldiers swim, relax, and bond, escaping the stress of their duties.
This initiative is a powerful, cost-effective way to boost morale. HIF’s mission is to support Israel’s defenders, and the Magav Swimming Event is a tangible expression of that support. The pool days offer participating soldiers a well-deserved break. A $1,200 donation sponsors an entire series for 150 soldiers.

Eli’s Community Lifeline:
Reservist Families Strengthened by HIF
Eli, a town of 6,000 in Judea and Samaria, has endured profound loss with 30 soldiers fallen since October 7, 2023. Helping Israel Fund (HIF) assists in funding Eli’s family support program, a lifeline for widows, orphans, and wives of long-serving reserve soldiers. This vital program delivers practical aid, group therapy, and community events to ensure no family feels alone. “We don’t just help individuals- we support the whole community,” an organizer says.
With 80% of Eli serving in the IDF, often in high-risk roles, in addition to ongoing security threats near the town itself (there have been three terror attacks just outside the town in two years, killing nearly a dozen Jews) the need for support is urgent. HIF’s generous funding powers a wide range of services for over 50 families. Practical aid includes weekly grocery deliveries to dozens of households, babysitting for young children, and driving kids to school, sports, or doctor’s appointments. Widows whose husbands have died in Gaza defending Israel can rely on volunteers for carpools and meal deliveries, easing their daily burden. Volunteers, from teens to elderly residents, also organize errands and provide all types of after-school help, ensuring families stay afloat.
Monthly group therapy unites wives and children to share grief and fears. “We bring wives together with a therapist,” an organizer says. “Kids have their own sessions, talking about their father’s absence.” Widows, often isolated at home with heavy household burdens and grief, find relief through ladies’ nights out, where they enjoy fun, social activities like dinners or outings with other women. Community events like pizza nights and bounce houses bring moments of connection. “At our pizza night, a widow’s kids jump in the bounce house, eat with friends, and smile. For two hours, they escape their loss,” the organizer shares. Planned family trips within Israel foster further bonds.
HIF’s recent $10,000 donation has expanded therapy, events, and aid for over 50 families. “HIF’s generosity enables so many mitzvot,” an organizer says.
Visit helpingisraelfund.com to help Eli’s families thrive through community events that ease isolation, practical aid like grocery deliveries and babysitting, therapy, and future trips.
